How lucky is Torquay Pickleball Club to have THIS MANY AMAZING COACHES
who are ready, willing and able to coach players at our Club!
Our Coaching Team are eager to deliver coaching
to players ranging from Beginners through to Advance players.
Each coach has been trained to Level 1 or Level 2
and they all bring their own experience, flavor and flair to
your coaching session!
"Group Coaching" sessions
These sessions are for a minimum of 2 people and
a maximum of 5 people per court and will run for 1.5 hours.
(some sessions may run for 2 hours depending on court availability and are no extra charge)
Coaching Sessions will be listed on Opensports as to
what area of coaching will be offered (ie Beginners, Intermediate, Advance)
All coaching session are listed as per the availability
of the coach and the court space.
COST FOR GROUP COACHING IS ONLY $10-00 per person

"Focused Coaching" sessions
From time to time the club will offer focused coaching
sessions for a maximum of 2 players.
This will allow the coach and player/s to
focus on area's of particular interest.
These sessions will run for 1 hour
COST FOR FOCUSED COACHING IS ONLY $25-00 per person
(Focused coaching sessions are only delivered by our higher level experienced coaches)

I’m a recently retired primary school teacher who is loving the opportunity to keep active, meet great people and enjoy the social interactions that pickleball brings. I’ve had some injuries that have prevented me from playing but I’m relishing playing again and being a part of the Torquay club.

Graeme has a background in adventure pursuits such as mountain biking, rock climbing, back-country skiing and mountaineering. He is experienced mentoring and coaching adults in these activities and has a tertiary qualification in Outdoor Education.Pickleball has become a significant part of his life in the last couple of years after he decided to try something different and more 'age appropriate'. Lacking a background in other 'bat & ball' sports, it's been quite a learning curve. An enjoyable and ongoing process. Graeme enjoys working with people who are keen to learn and improve. While he brings a light-hearted supportive approach to his coaching, this is underpinned by his analytical mind. The aim is fun and learning in equal measure.

Coming from a tennis, cycling , running and rowing background, active sports have always been a part of my life. I discovered Pickleball just over a year ago and have become totally hooked. I’m excited for the opportunity to offer introductory and level 1 coaching to new players to help you get started on your pickleball journey.

My pickleball journey started over 3 years ago at the Torquay stadium. I have enjoyed being part of the early growth of the club and quickly became a true convert to the sport. After completing a level 1 coaching course a couple of years ago, I was motivated to improve and so competed in a number of competitions in Victoria and NSW. Since my retirement as a PE teacher, I have enjoyed being able to help others grow their skills and knowledge of the game. Hope to see you at the kitchen soon.

I have been a professional trainer for many years, so coaching comes natural and I really enjoy coaching pickleball. I am fortunate to travel up north each year and get to experience different pickleball coaching techniques to share with players.
