Meet our Committee
|
Our President, Darren, has been part of the club and on the committee for as long as it’s been running. As one of the club’s picklers who is still part of the workforce, Darren hosts and plays in evening sessions and enjoys both the social and competitive side of the game. With lots of new sessions and ideas for the club currently in progress and on the drawing board, Darren’s enjoying leading the new committee and looks forward to a great year ahead for the Torquay club!

Deb is our newly appointed Treasurer and she has jumped in, boots and all, to this position and has been working closely with our past Treasurer who has graciously offered to assist Deb while she's still in the learning phase. She's already proving to be a multi skilled asset because when she's not crunching numbers she is assisting the IT Team with their work. Deb moved from NSW with her husband and Fur Babies to be closer to her daughter and new Grand Kiddies. Originally a tennis player, Deb started her pickleball journey in Victoria and is loving it. She has finally acclimatized to the brisk Vic weather and is now used to wearing 3 layers and being prepared all the seasons Vic weather throws at her.

Taz is our newly appointed Vice President and many members know her as the first port of call, from emails, IT help and Instructing heaps of Skills Sessions. She is very passionate about her love of pickleball and especially promoting safe play. She has a vast skill set outside of pickleball that she draws on to help run the IT, website and various other areas of the club. She is looking forward to formalizing her pickleball coaching skills and get more involved in that area, as she was a trainer for many years, and it's something she really enjoys. She is excited to see what the new Committee can achieve in the next 12 months.
