OpenSports is the APP we use at Torquay Pickleball Club and it can be download onto your phone.
Why have we moved to OpenSports?
First and foremost this app will allow our players to cancel from an event/game within a set time and receive a credit back into your OpenSports account, which can be applied to another event/game. This is a GAME CHANGER for our club and members! This app will also allow us to put pictures in the event from that event. It will send events you have booked into, direct to your calendar. It has a very user friendly messaging system and it will allow experienced pickleball guests to book into events that aren't already booked up by our members.... and much more!
So your Committee felt the move to this great program was a WIN for all our members and it will cut back a LOT of time our Admin team will have to do (hopefully) in helping you navigate it... because it's very user friendly!

STEPS - DOWNLOADING OPENSPORTS ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE (if you are using a laptop or PC click here for details)
Go into your App Store and DOWNLOAD OPENSPORTS - Install and then OPEN
Once you have been accepted:-
To book into a game
Find the game you want to book, click on it and it will open with all the details. Scroll to the bottom of the details and click on the green JOIN button. This will take you to the payment page, where you fill in your payment details. OpenSports will send that game into your phones calendar and it's THAT SIMPLE!
Unable to make a game you have already paid for?
As long as you cancel within the timeline, you will be issued a credit into your OpenSports account. You can then use those funds on another game.
Please ensure you go into that game and click on CANCEL ORDER as soon as you know you can not play. OpenSports will explain the process in the message.
Go into your App Store and DOWNLOAD OPENSPORTS - Install and then OPEN
- Click on the button GET STARTED
- Enter your email address
- Enter your details and a profile picture
- SIGN UP
- Verify Log In - enter the 6 digit number (that will be sent to your email)
- LOG IN
- Use Manual Location and type Torquay, Victoria (or go direct to FIND A GROUP)
- Put 5 - 10ks travel distance
- Press NEXT
- Press on FIND A GROUP
- Search by Name - Torquay Pickleball Club
- Press REQUEST TO JOIN Button - (if you have not been accept within a couple of hours, please email us at [email protected])
- You will see a message that says "Your request to join this group has been sent"
- Press OK
- Fill in your Member Details (mobile - email - emergency contact person - their mobile - and answer YES if you are new or developing player (under 10 games or never played at a club) or NO if you are an experienced player (ie you have played more than 10 games)
- Press SAVE
- Read the Waiver - (sit in a comfy chair and maybe make a cup of tea!) and if you agree... press ACCEPT
- You can now see all the events Torquay Pickleball Club has on the OpenSports app! Well done!
- Press - VIEW ACTIVITIES
- Press - EVENTS - click on the event you want and it will OPEN up with details.
After your game, you are welcome to come back to the event (it maybe in PAST events) and click on the STARS for Review where you can just press the number of stars to show "more = great game and / or leave a message. Thank you :-) Here is the link to OS help page about leaving reviews
Once you have been accepted:-
- If you are new to pickleball you can book into our Come & Try (see below in purple, how to)
- If you have only played socially or under say 10 games or you've never played at a club, then please book into our Skills Assessment session.
- If you are an experienced player and a Member of Torquay, you can book into any events relevant to your skills level and you will be charged the discount MEMBER RATE $8-00.
- If you are an experienced player from another club and a Member of PV or PAA, you are welcome to book into games and please message the HOST that you are a New Player to our club. You will need to arrive 15 minutes early and complete a quick INDUCTION with the Host before being able to play.
- Non members will be charged $16-00 per event, however if you would like the DISCOUNT price of $8-00, then you can join Torquay Pickleball Club as your 2nd Club. ($20) To do this, go to the Memberships button (on your phone click the (i) top right and then you will see the Membership button) in Open Sport and once you have joined, please email us your current PV or PAA ID number and you will be charged the discounted rate.

How do I get back to the events, after I've gone in and out the app
Click on the GREEN "O" in the middle, at the bottom menu.
Click on the people on the TOP LEFT Corner
If you don't see Torquay Pickleball Club - Then click on Find Groups - Search by name: Torquay Pickleball - when you see the logo .. click on it.
Click on GREEN BUTTON - View Activities (at the bottom)
Events should now appear
Click on the GREEN "O" in the middle, at the bottom menu.
Click on the people on the TOP LEFT Corner

How do I update my MEMBER DETAILS on OpenSports
Click on the GREEN "O" in the middle, at the bottom menu.
Click on the (i) TOP RIGHT Corner
Click on the 3 dots TOP RIGHT
Click on MEMBER
Click on the UPDATE button - enter your details then PRESS UPDATE
You can now press the top LEFT arrow to go back
Click on the GREEN "O" in the middle, at the bottom menu.
Click on the (i) TOP RIGHT Corner
Click on the 3 dots TOP RIGHT
Click on MEMBER
Click on the UPDATE button - enter your details then PRESS UPDATE

How do I SEND A MESSAGE on OpenSports
Click on the MESSAGE bubble at the bottom of the menu (2nd last on the right)
Any message from or to you will be in here.
Click on the + TOP RIGHT
