Updates from the Tournament Work Group (TWG)
1. Torquay vs Anglesea Challenge
A Torquay club challenge with the Anglesea Pickleball Club will take place on Saturday 22-11-2025 – 3-5 pm. Torquay will be represented by 10 players from our Club. As Anglesea is a small club and can only commit to 10 players of a high standard, the TWG have attempted to match that with our own members. This is a return competition from one previously held in Anglesea. Club members are encouraged to come and support all players on that day. The results will be published in an upcoming newsletter.
2. Torquay’s IN-HOUSE TOURNAMENT
The TWG is happy to announce an inhouse tournament for our club members only! To be held Saturday 13th December 2025 – from 3pm-5pm
This event is open to all club members whatever your skill level. The TWG will create divisions so you are playing with members of a similar skill level.
It will be open to the first 40 players. We have secured 8 courts on this day to allow for more picklers to be involved!
You will be able to book into this event from 22-11-2025 on Open Sport and the cost will be $10 – there may even be some prizes!
This will be followed by social drinks at 4 Pines from 5.15 pm onwards – again you will be able to book into this on Open Sports from 22-11-2025
3. 2026 – More Opportunity For Tournaments Outside Torquay
In 2026 it is proposed that there will be more opportunities for members to participate in tournaments with other local clubs. The TWG is working on this and will update members as soon as these details have been finalized.
4. Australian MASTERS Cup (AMC) 2026
It is planned that Torquay will participate in the AMC for our players 50 years old and over. This is due to start in February 2026 and will run for 10 weeks – more details shortly when the dates and costs have been sorted.
